Description

One day, in the stream chat, someone who can't quite remember now asked about making their own Jabocorn. I create concepts, I don't play the whole closed/open/half-closed species thing (I've seen what happen to the Sergals)

Still, the question did spark my curiosity, and I doodled this.

To me, it's not a species without culture or history and I ain't got time to plumb those depths. The Jabos are a concept, nothing more and my design principles are just the few things:

- horns are like broadcast antennas, telekinesis strength based on horn size
- lose a horn and output strength and range are reduced
- guys will usually lop both arms off and have longer horns
- gals and youngsters will keep an arm and have shorter horns
- telekinetic grasp has no tactile feedback, very easy to 'grab' too hard and crush things

Everything else is open to interpretation, per the examples. Timeline, purpose, aesthetics, these variables are not set. Though personally I didn't do futuristic because tech can emulate the telekinesis, rendering the natural power pointless. I also consider mental powers to be sterile, ideal for handling food and the sick without contamination.

If someone wants to go beyond the subtleties and do some funky weird shit like make them move mountains and have a head of horns like a porcupine; nothing to do with my core idea, I just don't have to associate with it.

Right, that's my thoughts on it. Wanna make your own Jabocorn? Have at it.

So they all cleave off their arms to enhance their psychic powers? Or is it a matter of choice?

(Asked to the man who said he doesn't feel like digging deeper into the concept, but if you don't want to answer you just won't)
